Documentum Development

The project involves automation of almost all functional requirements of the client, automation of various departments like IT, Finance, Legal and also customization of web based clients such as WebTop. This project also includes restoring D6 repositories from production backup into another production environment and LDAP Synchronization with Microsoft Active Directory for authentication.

Leading IT company wanted to automate on-boarding and vendor payment processes. We provided them a web based application built on top of Documentum and Captiva suite of products from EMC. Captiva suite was used for scanning and indexing documents related to various processes which were running manually. Documentum Content Server was used to store those documents and their meta-data information. It was also used to manage the business processes on these documents. This solution is scalable to their all locations across India.

The Client envisaged a need for workflow management system for the invoices received from the Vendors for claiming the amount. Invoices require an internal approval for its reimbursement. Vendors were asked to scan those invoices so that invoices reach to centralized location. Capturing was done through Document Capturing system. Each invoice had a Purchase Order on top of it which is captured during Indexing. Once indexing gets completed, PO was deleted and the document was exported to the repository in the specified hierarchy.

The client is India's leading full play media conglomerate with interests in television, print, internet and allied businesses. They envisaged implementing paperless & vault-less office for their legal department. The system will provide means to move away from a predominantly paper-based system process to digital document management system, by enabling scanning and storing the document information in Documentum repository using Captiva InputAccel tools.
